CUSTOMS
CLEARANCE
What Is Customs Clearance?
Customs clearance is the process required for goods entering or leaving a country. Depending on the destination and product, customs authorities may require import or export documents, declarations, inspections, and payment of applicable duties, taxes, fees, or other charges.
International Orders
Products purchased from PCZONEX for delivery to another country or customs territory may be subject to the customs laws and import requirements of the destination.
Customer Responsibility
Customers are responsible for complying with the import requirements applicable to their destination.
Destination Charges
Import duties, taxes, customs fees, brokerage charges, storage charges, inspection fees, and other government or carrier charges are generally determined by the destination country and its authorities.
PCZONEX Collection
Customs duties and import taxes are not collected by PCZONEX unless expressly stated otherwise for a particular order. Charges may instead be assessed by customs authorities, customs brokers, freight forwarders, or delivery carriers.
How Long Does Customs Clearance Take?
Customs clearance may be completed relatively quickly for straightforward shipments, but it can also take several days or longer depending on the destination and circumstances surrounding the shipment.
Common Delay Triggers
- Incomplete or inaccurate customs documentation
- Additional information requested
- Customs inspection
- Additional product testing or certification
- Required import permits or licenses
Additional Processing
- Unpaid duties or taxes
- Additional customs processing
- Destination-specific import restrictions
- Carrier or broker information requests
- Additional customs inspection
PCZONEX cannot guarantee a specific customs-clearance timeframe. Customs processing is controlled by the relevant authorities and third-party logistics providers.
How Are Customs Charges Calculated?
Customs charges vary by country and shipment. The following categories may apply depending on the destination, product, classification, declared value, origin, and local regulations.
Import Duty
Government charges that may apply to imported goods. Rates may depend on product type, tariff classification, declared value, origin, destination, trade agreements, and local customs regulations.
VAT / GST / Sales Tax
Imported products may be subject to VAT, GST, sales tax, or another consumption tax depending on the jurisdiction.
Brokerage Fees
Customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, or delivery companies may charge customs entry, administration, clearance, disbursement, documentation, or handling fees.
Inspection Charges
Customs authorities may inspect, scan, test, X-ray, or examine imported products. Applicable charges may be imposed on the importer.
Storage Charges
Storage fees may apply if a shipment remains at a customs facility, carrier warehouse, airport, port, or other location beyond the permitted free-storage period.
Additional Charges
Depending on the destination, other permit, licensing, handling, documentation, regulatory, or special-handling charges may apply.
Cryptocurrency & Customs Charges
PCZONEX Payment Method
PCZONEX accepts digital currency / cryptocurrency as its payment method for purchases made through the website.
Customs Is Separate
Customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, storage fees, inspection charges, and other destination-country charges are separate from the product purchase price unless expressly stated otherwise.
Payment Method Is Determined Locally
The method used to pay customs charges is determined by the applicable customs authority, carrier, customs broker, or other responsible party.
Do Not Assume Crypto Is Accepted
Customers should not assume that a customs authority or carrier accepts cryptocurrency simply because the original product purchase was paid using cryptocurrency.
How Do You Pay Customs Charges?
Depending on the destination and shipping arrangement, a freight forwarder, customs broker, courier, carrier, customs authority, or authorized service provider may provide payment instructions.
Customers should respond promptly to customs or carrier requests. Failure to respond or pay applicable charges may result in clearance delays, storage charges, or return-to-sender situations.
Who Is Responsible for Customs Charges?
Importer / Customer Responsibility
Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, the Customer/importer is responsible for applicable destination import costs.
- Import duties
- Import taxes
- Customs fees

- Storage charges
- Inspection fees

- Required permits or licenses
- Compliance with destination-country import laws

What Happens If Customs Charges Are Not Paid?
Shipment May Be Delayed
If applicable duties, taxes, fees, or other charges are not paid, customs or the carrier may hold or delay the shipment.
Possible Outcomes
- Returned to sender
- Abandoned
- Additional storage fees
- Additional handling charges
- Additional customs procedures
If a shipment is returned to PCZONEX because the Customer refused to pay applicable customs charges or failed to complete required import procedures, additional shipping, handling, customs, or return costs may apply.
